Good news, everyone!
Your favourite author and activist (or maybe your second or third favourite, but I’ll take it) is stepping back into medical practice as a GP, starting 1st March 2019, in Sea Point, Cape Town.
As you’d expect, I’m bringing with me into practice the values I hold close in the rest of my life: compassion, inclusiveness, respect, agency, and ethics.
I’m very excited to open this new chapter in my life, and it’s the first time I’m seeing patients independently since my own transition.
I’m willing and capable of managing all kinds of patients, but as you’d guess, my areas of special interest are trans & LGBTQIA+ healthcare, vegan nutrition, exercise medicine, eating disorders, and mental health.
I can’t promise that I know everything, but I can promise you that if I don’t, I’ll look it up. Not just that, but I’ll also promise to treat you with dignity and respect, not to judge you, not to crap you out or make you feel ashamed while you’re in my office, and to do my best to empower you with knowledge and information that you can use to make your own decisions about your health and wellbeing.
Come see me at 403 Medical Centre, 1 Kloof Road, Sea Point, any time from 1st March 2019 onwards. You can find contact information for the practice here.
